About Me

Over the last decade or more I have photographed many things, from weddings, to boudoir, to families, and while I enjoyed each and every one of these, I decided a few years ago to focus solely on animals and the people with whom they share their lives.

There is something incredible about what a human and an animal share. I have been fortunate enough to experience these relationships with my own animals, & with the horses I haven't owned but with whom I've spent countless hours with and have taught me so much. That's why I am so committed to capturing just that; that love, that energy, that understanding, that compassion, that unwavering knowing. You'll hear me say at least a few times: "don't worry about looking at the camera, just concentrate on being with your dog (or horse, or cat)". I adore what's between the posed "cheeses" with the ears up and the focus on me, the stuff you may not even know is happening; the ones where you're smoothing your dogs ears back, scratching your mare in her absolute favourite spot (just slightly to the right of the bellybutton) or holding his face to yours to soak in absolutely every single thing you love about him.

My photography was named for my first dog, my heart dog, Journey. Journey crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the fall of 2016. She is dearly missed, and I think of her often. Summer 2017, a new canine came into my life, an Australian Shepherd named Nebel (na-belle), who you will see a lot if you follow my social media.

Photography is in my blood; my father is a wildlife and landscape photographer. My happy place is outside, in a barn, with my dog and preferably with my camera in hand. I love a good cup of tea, baked goods, black licorice, four wheeling & reading. I do not like ketchup, fleece or being too hot.

Do you want to have gorgeous photos & some beautiful wall art for your home? All you have to do is show up with your best one, & let me take care of the rest. Your session will be fluid, fun, & a little bit awkward in the best way possible (because, well-- hi, it's me).

"Danielle was amazing to work with! She is very talented and has an eye for capturing how special the human + canine relationship is. The process was comfortable and fun, Danielle was very communicative and I got my photos back quickly. I am super happy with her work and find her prices to be more than reasonable.

Thank you, Danielle!"

"Amazingly fun and considerate!

Danielle was truly a joy to work with. She came prepared with lots of ideas for photos and made us feel like we were just friends on the beach. She was so understanding of our dogs and their needs and capabilities. She captured our family perfectly! I would give her more than 5 stars if I could. We will definitely continue to recommend her & will be using her in the future again!"
